I went though the same thing you did but without a partner - it was sooo hard. I was lonely, but then all of the sudden, I turned around and I wasn't lonely anymore. I eventually met friends. I met them through a variety of ways; local dance clubs, classes, friends of friends. It takes time, that's all. Focus on yourself first. Try to be who you want yourself to be and don't worry about friends at first. Eventually, it will just happen.

First off relax, this isn't that unusual. The key to making friends in a new place is to get involved in the community. Check into places that need volunteers or look into taking classes of interest that are open to the community such as dancing or yoga. It will still take some time but eventually you will make some good friends and feel less lonely I'm sure.

Check out your local paper to see whats going on in your area, maybe you could join a club of something that interests you.
Volunteer somewhere, one of the local charities, you will meet other nice people there. I had children, so I helped with a reading program at there school.
I also started Gym when I moved and met some really nice friends. I also started selling make up, leaving brochure's in customers mail boxes and going back for orders I met some other long term friends that way too.
I am sorry you are feeling so lonely and I can totally relate to it, but you have to put yourself out there to meet people some way or another. It worked for me. Best of Luck

If you and your husband are interested in doing any volunteer work in your community, you might find new friends that way. Being able to help others is very satisfying, and volunteering may help you increase your circle of acquaintances in a safe environment.

Try joining a fitness club. Maybe your hubby could ask someone "who's married or dating",from work to dinner. Email me, I'll be happy to talk to you.
