People who should get vaccinated each year are:

People at high risk for complications from the flu, including:
Children aged 6–59 months,
Pregnant women,
People 50 years of age and older, and
People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions;
People who live in nursing homes and other long term care facilities

I've been told during both of my pregnancies to get the flu shot. It is recommended because as a previous person said, pregnant women fall into the high risk category. If you're not convinced either way, ask your doctor.

This is a question for your Dr. Let him know that you get sick every winter and see what he has to say. There are so many variables with the shot and pregnancy that I would only trust my Dr. Another person you can talk to is a Pharmacist. They have more knowledge about this thing than even a Dr. They have to know the molecular design of the drug. I wish you luck honey and Congratulations on your NEW LITTLE LIFE !!! Good Luck !

It is recommended that pregnant women get the flu shot. However, you should ask your doctor for the flu shot that does not contain the mercury-based preservative called Thimerosal. See the link I've provided for more info.

It's perfectly fine. I had a flu shot, okay'd by my ob and done at the same hospital, when I was in my third trimester. Nothing happened, no flu or cold that winter. So go for it!

I dont think its advisable. Any jab gives u a small amount of the virus and this is not good for pregnant women.

I had heard it was OK to take because preg. women fall into "high risk" category. Ask your doc though, I wouldn't wanna expose myself to something if I didn't have too, ya know?
