I tell people it's like a microwave. Until you started using it, you never will appreciate it. I have owned a TIVO DVR since 2001 and have never looked back. What is a great selling point? Being able to fast forward through commercials and not being a slave to the TV. You can watch the programs you like according to your own schedule, not the TV's schedule. Once you set it to record a series or "season pass" you should never have to worry about your favorite show not being recorded. Definitely get it!!!
