Oh yeah. British bands seem to be more into the music than making money. The best bands EVER are British: The Beatles (of course), Queen, The Who, The Kinks, 1/4 of The Monkees, lol. Stein auf!

American Big Bands are by far the best musicians. Of course,
we are not talking about rock and roll. I mean Artie Shaw and
the great crooner Mel Thormé, Henri Mancini, Burt Bacharach,
Louis Armstrong and many more. I am an old timer and I guess
these will never die, but I really would like to listen to real music
composed and played in the old fashioned way. There is too much
yelling going on, but I will make one exception and that Is
ROBBIE WILLIAMS, he knows it all, past and present and has
a great voice. And is a showman that plays to his audience like
nobody else. Sorry for the contrary opinion.

Tough question for a true Rock fan, but I would have to settle for British at the end of the day (English bias aside!) because we produce the more heartfelt stuff. American bands are awesome, but far too often guilty of being commercial crowd-pleasers rather than sticking to their teenage dreams.

Iron Maiden rock forever!

British bands - Jethro Tull, Katie Melua, Motorhead, Manic Street Preachers, Steel Eyespan, David Bowie...
I also love lots of Scandinavian bands like Nightwish and Finntroll.

Definitely British, don't forget the who, kinks, Genesis (Peter Gabriel) etc. They write with more conviction and realism.
Best American band The doors

Elastic bands are far and away more useful, and,if you put them under tension over a shoebox for instance you can make some really neat noises by using a pencil as a bridge and plucking them.A do it yourself guitar, and if you put it through a microphone and then an effects azimuth co-ordinator you start to move into th world of the pink floyd and such.Weird eh........

I would say America produces better music. Like someone said earlier, The Beatles were definitely and still are over-rated.
I like Metallica and they are American so thats my point proven.................well not really but anyway most British music still sucks.
