I used to pick up hitchhikers but the last time I did so was about 10 years ago.

Would you feel more comfortable if picking up a girl hitchhiker like she'd seem less threatening? (although anyone can have a gun)

I never pick up hitchhikers no matter what their age or gender. I would rather go home feeling a little guilty than not make it home at all.

I have hitchhiked from the Canadian Border to Fairbanks, Alaska, from Denver to Salt Lake City and a few other shorter distances...but this was over 15 years ago or more now....no way would attempt to do it now...nor would I pick any hitchhikers up anymore...it's just far too dangerous.

I have picked up hitchhikers no matter what the gender is. I go by my gut feeling about the person. I used to be a hitchhiker so I can't be two faced and say hay pick me up but I can't pick you up.

I have never hitched but I did pick up a teenage bloke once - long time ago. I was uncomfortable and decided I'd rather drive alone than have a stranger making small talk.

I have never hitchhiked and do not pick up hitchhikers. Unless I know you, you're just SOL.

I call the local police everytime I see a hitch hiker - it's illegal in this state.
