I am accepted into a university but plan to go into the nursing program they have however they only accept 40 students. the lowest gpa they got from student in the university was a 3.4 and a 3.7 for a transfer student. Should i go to a community college first or go straight to the university? The unviersity has a ratio of 15 students to one teacher and i've heard good things about them. however i also heard that community colleges are easy. I don't want to waste money by going to the university and not being able to go into the nursing program. what would you do in my position?

Go to the school and see if you get accepted into the nursing program. If not, you can either continue working on your GEs and then apply again the next year or you can switch to a community college and finish your GEs there and apply later.

If you have been accepted at the... university and can financially afford it, and it is not so far away that you'll suffer terrible homesickness...I say go to the University. On the other hand, if you're not sure about nursing, not ready to go too far from home, and want to save some money, the community college makes sense. Anatomy and physiology will be difficult wherever you go. Some courses can't be watered down. What you put into the courses, regardless of the location will determine your knowledge and skill level. Best of luck to you. Realize also, if you start at the community college, you can always transfer sooner if you don't like it. Don't go anyplace because it's easy..if I'm dying I want a nurse who cared about learning regardless of where he or she went. That's what is ultimately important.

CC maybe easy, but you still have a State Board Test you must past to get your License for Nursing,( and it's not easy) Make sure the CC is going to teach you what you need to pass the State Exam, alot of people come out, not being able to pass their State Exam,CC don't teach enough for SE, they have to wait 6 months to retake it, don't short change yourself!!
