I had sex 3 1/2 weeks ago. My last normal period was September 4. I had a lot of symptoms like frequent urination, nausea, back pain. I took a urine test yesterday at the docs office and a couple other tests before I was 3 weeks, negative. My ex who would be the father wants to have a blood test done, to double check because he thinks its too early. Is he right?

Also I've had really shiny, smooth hair the past few days! I haven't changed anything but I read that when you get pregnant you get really lush and shiny hair. Its kinda funny to say but hey thats what the info said lol

Oh I forgot to mention! I was supposed to start last monday or tuesday. I got some spotting late wednesday which is abnormal because it was really late for me and I'm regular every month! Its light bleeding not like my regular "flow" it was definitely different not like a period I've ever had and I'm 20 so I've had enough periods to know what it should be like.

You should take another home test in about a week. That light bleeding could have been "implantation bleeding" it is usually light and lasts for one to two days. I got a false negative with my son and I was approx. 4 weeks pregnant with him at the time. It wasn't until a month later when I found out that I was really pregnant. Looking back I'm sure that a blood test would have told me that I was pregnant. If you just have to know then go ahead and schedule that test!
Good Luck and I hope that everything turns out they way you want.

If you had of conceived 3 and a half weeks ago a pregnancy test would almost certainly pick up the pregnancy hormone. Very rarely some women never get a positive result on home urine tests even if they are pregnant. So if you do think your pregnant its definately worth having a blood test done. Good luck and I hope you get the result you want.

But is best to wait at least 5 days after the first day of your last period to find out and since you have and all urine tests have came back negative then definately get a blood test

Now days you can buy a test over the counter in a drug store that can tell you if you got pregnant overnight. Your ex is wrong. EPT test is a good test as it stands for Early Pregnancy Test. As far as the hair goes........never heard that before and I have been a Mother for over 36 years. If in fact you are pregnant let me Congratulate YOU and wish you all the luck in the world. Good Luck !!!

Your symptoms are possible pregnancy symptoms, especially the light bleeding....get the blood test done.

i would say wait another week the tests look for a hormone so if your preg it will show in either one at about 41/2 to 5 weeks.
