Once, long ago, a successful merchant married a lovely younger lady. He traveled (he ran a caravan) a lot. And one day, when he returned home, the servants met him a the door crying, "We heard a man's voice from the mistresses bedroom. But when we knocked, she wouldn't answer and when we finally broke in we found her sitting on top of a very large chest. She won't let us look inside."
The man walked into where his wife sat on the chest. "Honey," he said. "What's in the chest?"
She sniffed. "Look for yourself, but I'll know you don't trust me for the rest of our marriage."
A wise man, he paused for a moment to think. Then he called four of his strongest servants. They carried the chest out back and buried it deep.
The couple never spoke of the chest again. They lived happily for many years and raised seven fine children.

Wow, I wouldn't have been able to walk away from that!!! I guess if you don't want your bubble to burst, then it's better NOT to know. It makes me wonder how many more times the wife cheated and if the husband "got her back" without her knowing. Cool story!!

i'm unable to confirm why it is incorrect in spite of if observe that frequently an answer won't be at present attainable. i'm of the opinion that each and every thing that occurs occurs for a reason in spite of if we don't understand what the explanation is. to assert there can't be a reason for particular issues strikes me as being a touch defeatist suggestions-set to hold. a minimum of in case you attempt you're able to in thought discover out 'why'! there are of direction some 'why' questions that are meaningless & ought to hence in no way be asked. e.g. Why is there something extremely than not something? - what a meaningless question! there is not any such element as 'not something' is there? in case you think of something is 'not something' you should comprehend what 'some' means as against 'no'.

Trust is very important in every relationship. We begin this by open communication. This builds trust each and everyday.
Genuine friendship is next after you have a basis for trust. You never ask for anything in return from them in terms of material wants and needs because you can get this for yourself without worry. All you want here is to grow as an individual and make your own choices while seeing the best in your special someone while they do the same... and the both of you growing as a couple over time enjoying the best of each other as you do.
When you have open communication, trust, genuine friendship all that is left is to share your values. Respect, Trust, Honesty, Caring, sharing, Appreciation and A Sense of Humor along with the most important value : unconditional love... make all of this work and surreal at the same time.
It takes alot of patience and understanding and non-judgement to make it work over time too.
The moral of this story is a very good one. It has all the trust, friendship and value issues in it.

I think alot of people live that way and I guess it works for them. For me, I have to have trust and honesty in my relationship. It depends on the individual and I guess the kind of relationship they have. The story had a happy ending but I think in real life it may be a little different.

burying the chest will only "sweep the dust under the carpet" which will turn up again when the carpet is walked on. the best way is to burn the dust (and the mo-fo inside)

Actually depends on your partner and your mentality. If you are honest and loyal then you should show him the chest and then you have the right to ask him to show...
I mean if you are loyal and honest then there is nothing wrong to ask...

She was the one that would never trust him. Knowing all the aweful and bad things about someone and still accepting them is what love is all about.
