Neither Columbus nor the Pilgrims landed on Plymouth Rock; the story was made up by a 95-year-old man over 120 years after the Mayflower landed.

Most history books are wrong when they say Christopher Columbus' first landing in the New World was on the Bahamian island of Watling or, as it has been called since 1926 San Salvador.
Columbus really landed 65 miles to the southeast, on another
Bahamian island, a narrow, 9-mile long patch of uninhabited land
called Samana Cay.

He landed on Hispanola, the island that is now the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

I think it's funny that the 'man who discovered America' was not the first nor did he land in America! 8)
