Why are muslims so violent?

The pope said that they were a violent religon. They reacted by killing nuns and bombing stuff. Didn't they prove his point?

I didn't ask about the vatican. I asked why they think they can kill people because somone said something bad about them. If all muslims aren't bad then why don't the good ones do something instead of sitting on their asses and watching people die?

I just don't see why so many people defend the way things happen now. If muslims don't want to be discriminated against then they should DO somthing about the way the extremists are acting.

iam a muslim . not all muslims are violent and islam is a religion of peace . these violent people you see blowing people up are not muslims they are just claiming to be ( terrorism has no religion) and we as muslims we reject them beacause they mirepresent our religion

Why is it that people think that all Muslims are violent. There are violet people of every religion and no one is better than the other. While the pope is calling Islam a violent religion, why don't they talk about the heartache and pain that Catholicism has inflicted on people (IE all the priest who have raped and violated young boys. If you research Catholic history you'll find that they thought that it was OK to rape young boys to preserve their youth) Also, the Catholic orphanages where started as a way to adopt out the children that nuns and priest made together. And if you look up the meaning of the word Muslim it means "one who is of peace". Not all Muslims are as the ones who get all the media attention. As for why the violent ones are violent, there is a long trail of frustration with the West behind them. There is a History Channel documentary posted on YouTube that shows the development of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt during the 1920s.
