I'm assuming you meant the GeForce 7950GX2. It's a pretty sweet card and will play anything nowadays maxed on standard screen res's. Sadly, with as much money as you would pay for it, it wouldn't run DX10 at all. It's built around the DX9 architecture and design. there are currently no DX10 cards available on the market but they are coming out soon. Until DX9 becomes completely phased out, that card will still play games that support DX10 but will not support DX10 within it. And that's only a few of them. As of now there are only an estimeated like 8-10 games that will support DX10. I would suggest geting maybe the 7900GT if you're going to be spending any kind of money. If you still wanna save a up a little money but need a card now get the 7600GT. That way you can have some money left over to get DX10 cards when they are available. Even then, I would wait until the 2nd Generation of DX10 cards are available.

Yes it will run them just fine, and not odd that your putting in 2GB of RAM, a 32-bit program can only use 1.5GB of RAM, why would you need more than 2GB in your system.

EDIT: Actually now that I have looked into this a bit further, let me say that while the initial DX 10 games will have a DX 9 patch, DX10 is technically not compatible with DX9 cards, so you will probably wanna get a DX10 card fairly soon.

yes and no when vista comes out this spring it will have direct x 10 which is a major upgrade from direct x 9 and much closer to the xbox 360 os however windows xp will never have direct x 10 so all direct x 10 games will support direct x 9 cards. it would be foolish not to as game makers suport the main stream as that the lagest market for sales so untill the majority of people are using direct x10 games will still suport direct x9

However games will shine on true direct x cards which will be out in the spring with the release of vista
so I wait till spring to get your system

and the reason for 2 gigs is that the sweet spot for vista just like 1 gigs is the sweet spot for xp

wait for few months and buy directx 10 card (geforce 8 series)

7950 is directx 9 card it can not support the full features of the directx10.

Uhmm.. Yeah... You should be able to run fairly decently for awhile. Odd that you're only putting in 2GB of ram though.
