It's obvious! They don't want to be responsible for their actions! They seem to think that they are special. It's the same with any religion and culture. We used to have a lady, when I was working at Morden Underground station, that used to insist on us letting her in, before her pass allowed her, just to get a Metro paper from a train. When she was told that she would have to use her pass she went ballistic!! She swore at us and had a right go! She said to me one day "I'm a Christian! How can you treat me like this?" It was now my chance to have a go. I said "How dare you! I am a Christian! and I would never dare to speak to anyone the way you have spoken to me! I speak to people how I would like to be spoken to." She came back with a bar of chocolate and I was her best friend until the day I left Morden! Now I am a Revenue Control Inspector, may God help her if I ever find her on a train before her pass allows her to be!!!

I can only come up with 3 answers.

First, is obvious. If your brought up with a belief, its very hard to shake it, especially if its strong. So they beleive in what they do, its not an excuse (well it is, but a poor one).

Second, is the uncertainty/fear of what else is there? Are we just here for our lifespan, and thats it? We die and the thoughts, knowlage go nowhere? Thats upsetting for some people, so they need to beleive in something. So again, they truely beleive in it and its the same as above.

But third is where they know its wrong, and its just convienent. This is what we see everyday. The ones that commit the crimes might beleive, but the ones that brainwash them rarely do.

Because if they did, wouldnt they want to become marytrs instead?

Thats my thoughts on it.

Most religions are founded on values of good and enlightenment. There are the people that twist these terms to their own personal egos and intentions. This fact does not change the morals of the religious beliefs. Human nature is selfish.

I think it is these people hide behind a blanket when it comes to these things. I doubt if anyone perpretates a murder or like has any actual religious background. This to them is just simply a blanket or a get out clause as me and you know it.

Thats the thing about religion, in their eyes the bible (quran etc) has the answer to everything. The world is based on the battle between good and evil. murder is evil so if someone killed someone else they say satan came into them and made them do it. personally i dont think so.

people who do those things are mentally ill,obviously... you shouldn't believe anything they say! sometimes they equate hearing voices with God..
Also...even satan knows Jesus and the scriptures... just because someone says something, it doesn't make it true. And one person certainly does not represent the whole.

Most murders don't admit to doing it.Check I don't recall many murders saying God or even satan told them to do it.

I can't but agree with you totally,
every one should be responsible for his actions in Islam,
and should pay for his deeds

they know religion has be mis-used by corrupted power hungry people to control, destroy populations. they also know that religion has a very powerful status in most societies. so they take advantage of that.
