Yes I had this happen with my middle son. Originally my due date with him was January 11, 2000 and she changed it to January 6, 2000. He ended up being born January 2, 2000. When I asked my doctor why the sudden change in the due date, she replied that they changed the due date because my son was already showing signs of being a very big baby. She also said that if he stayed in too long there was a chance of him having a bowel movement in the womb and experiencing meconium poisoning. He was born very healthy at 9 lbs and he probably would have been closer to his due date had I not have gone out and celebrated the New Year / Millennium with lots of dancing and loud music.
Congrats on the pregnancy & good luck!!

Ultrasound dating is actually better earlier in the pregnancy because the baby is changing and growing so much from day to day. Be wary of date changes so late in pregnancy and trust your instincts you know what is best for you and your baby. I know near the very end of you pregnancy you will get antsy and want to deliver baby but remember to trust yourself and baby to know when the time is right. Inductions are far to common and are only necesarry if mum or baby is in distress. Before agreeing to an induction ask for an ultrasound and ask them to access the placentas function.
Oh my steping off my soap box now. :)

Well, I am 23 weeks pregnant and my due date has changed 3 times. Its not uncommon for the due date to change during the last trimester. It just meens that your baby is growing fast wants to come out early!

Yeah, they did it to me and it was actually a day AFTER my first due date. They did another ultrasound and found out I probably had another 2 weeks. So, everyone is different. I know plenty of people who had their dates changed, sometimes 4-5 times, mine was only 3 times. Good Luck!

The doctors changing the dates is just fine. they probably did it because your baby is growing and looking bigger than it should be for the first expected date. but the dates aren't so far apart, so it's not really a big deal. there isn't anything to worry about

They can tell your due date better the closer you are to delivery. It is not uncommon for your dates to change.
