Can everybody please give up calling the beatles a rock band. They have been predominately pop. The heaviest music they have been given into became probably helter skelter, which isn't very heavy. Now, i understand rock would not ought to be loud, in spite of if it is not meant to be poppy. The stones have been the superb rock band ever, it is substantially regarded. you are able to love led zeppelin all you prefer, however the stones will continuously be extra perfect. The who have been the main suitable rock band, in spite of in the event that they weren't the superb. Pete townsend could additionally write a terrific music, and did so. worry became his songs did not attraction to the great audiences the stones appealed to. As for the stones nevertheless being the superb, and drawing the main important audiences, most of the objective marketplace is made up of folk who enjoyed the stones interior the 60's and 70's. useful, there is extremely some youthful ones there too, yet they are going to confirm songs written interior the 60's and 70's, not new song. i think somewhat band stated as coldplay attracts the main important crowds these days. if this is the standards, does that cause them to the superb?

Your question is a little restrictive, and therefore I would agree that the Rolling Stones are indeed the best rock-n-roll band. But exactly how many 'rock-n-roll' bands are there these days? Not too many. Certainly not Queen or U2.
I'm 44, and my current favourites are Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight, Keane, Killers, Feeder, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Oasis, Franz Ferdinand, Athlete, etc, not forgetting the best 'ROCK' band ever, Pink Floyd, and I would rate all of these above the Strolling Bones.
If you don't believe me, go and see some of them in concert next year. You'll love them, honest, and you'll never pay inflated prices to watch 'The Pensioners' again.

BECAUSE THEY ARE!
I took my 2 sons to see them in August at the Millennium Stadium, the 14 year old had the most fantastic time- and the 18yr old loves them anyway- he was on his feet clapping his hands throughout the gig! He was looking forward to seeing "the Kooks"-who he is a fan of- but thought the Stones were awesome! And they are, seen them twice now and they are the greatest!
Maybe old "Farts" but if anyone on this board can say they will move like Mick does, with such enthusiasm and energy like he does at 63yrs old, I will eat my hat!

I just love how everyone willl ignore the fact that your question is about ROCK N ROLL, they should look up the definition before answering.
They are Brits, they hail from the 1960's. They have got NOTHING to prove. Their music is beautiful.
"gimme shelter" seems to be taking on a renewed significance these days?
