are maxims like proverbs?
a bird in hand is worth two in the bush (not if youre a great shot, thou)
a stitch in time saves nine (what?? i've heard that a couple times, but i dunno wat it means)
a fool and his money are soon to be parted (that is SO true)
waste not want not (yeah right)
nice guys finish last (haha, i like that...self explainatory and so very true)

a penny saved is a penny earned (that only was true back in the good old days when you could actually get something with just a penny. they should change that to like at least a dollar)
