Whether or not a word or set of words is considered offensive is basically a matter of culture. I live in Australia where many words, thought of as being offensive in say the US, are in common use and used regularly in advertising.
In this country to greet somebody with the word that questions ones illegitimacy, is common.
Swearing per se' has it's roots in early Christianity where certain words were deemed to be words of cursing and the users risked charges of witchcraft, or heresy.
The use of words that denigrate a persons race, religion or culture are insulting to that person. Also, words that associate an individual with a bodily function, or excreta etc can be equally insulting, once again depending on cultural background.

What comes out of your mouth either honors or defiles you, you decide. Cooker is West Texas Spanish for get or take, whereas as in Central Texas it means to screw.

they are only offensive words if peopel choose to be offended by them. like you proably usre them around your friends because they dotn take offense from them fro whatever reason. you probably wouldnt use them around your parents becuase they takw offense from those words because they dont want their child using them because they offend people. if everyone chose not to be offended by them they would lose their power and be liek any other word.

I think it's immature for people to talk that way, and many men think they're supposed to to feel manly.
