Lately i've been going through a bad breakup with my boyfriend [or ex] but we're still getting back together possibly. Meanwhile I have a close friend who has liked me more than a friend for awhile and we're best friends. So last night I had a dream that I met my ex before class, and when we were saying bye he went in to kiss me, and after we kissed and he pulled back it wasn't him anymore but had turned into my close friend. What does this mean?

Does it mean I need to replace my ex with him? Or should I still keep working things out with my ex? Or what...

( I wasn't sure where to put this question )

It all depends on your feeling towards the two guys. You say it is a bad breakup so it sounds to me like you are having big time trouble with the ex. It sounds like a change might be a good thing for you.

Now, as far as the new guy is concerned, you say he likes you as more than a friend but how do you feel about him? Is there any chemistry there? Also, would you be willing to lose him as a best friend if your relationship didn't end up working out? On the other hand, a lot of times great relationships start as great friendships because you already have a lot of things in common.

I'd evaluate your situation and do what is best for you. Don't let outside influences affect your decision. Follow your heart.

Could it be possible that you have hidden feelings for your close friend?

As far as you getting back together with your ex-boyfriend, your statement just doesn't make any sense to me -- you called the breakup 'bad' but then said you're still getting back together.....possibly........

What the heck does that mean? If you've broken up, move on. My philosophy has always been - if he doesn't want you, you sure shouldn't want him!

I hope it all works out for you, which ever guy you choose! God bless!

I would say that you are thinking about it as a rebound or a friend with options wondering if you could cross that line if you haven't already or at least as a fantasy or curiosity. Just a thought. You should already know these answers. I don't think need should be an excuse to get involved with a friend. Don't be too hasty if your friend is always ready and waiting anyway. Your ex might think as much also. Sometimes accusations lead up to truth too. As if you might as well. Don't allow yourself to be manipulated and vulnerable unless that's your whole idea. Confused as usual? Just guessing.

It may mean that you aren't sure about who you want to be with. Perhaps you should evaluate the relationship you had with your ex to determine whether its worth going back to.
