Rent a hall at a church, they are usually cheap. Have a friend in charge of the food (you pay, of course) but someone who'll do the shopping, make up the sandwiches, salads or whatever, Have a friend with a good camera take pictures, digital would be great, otherwise you supply the film. Don't go fancy on the dress, there are some beautiful white formal dresses for Prom and such. For the cake, get someone who makes them out of her house, it'll be cheaper than the bakery. Ask your friends and family for ideas for decorations, someone probably has a closet full from a party they through. Go simple on the flowers, etc... etc...
Invitations can be made on the computer, go to Staples or wherever and check it ou.

You haven't given nearly enough info. Do you want to have a wedding, or just get married? If you just want to get married, it should only cost whatever you local county charges at the courthouse.
For a wedding, there are so many options and it all depends on what you're looking for. We had a traditional wedding, reception and honeymoon for under $4000. I've seen other people spend less or much much more.
You need to be a tad more specific. You can also check out www.theknot.com for ideas. Their forums are area specific, so you might find info on deals in your area, if you do indeed want a wedding ceremony/reception.

what kind of cheap.. My wedding was less than 2500. and that included my dress and shoes.. Yes. we rented a small chapel, got the basics nothing fancy, we had roses from the local florist, wedding dress was one sale for 100.00, we catered the food, we made the food, we held the reception outside at a knights of Columbus, it was gorgeous.. Under the pavillion we seperated the dance floor with some white lights,. and we got creative.. We did use the picnic tables, we covered them with white plastic table cloths, and used oil lamps on all the tables, the oil was our wedding colors. It can be done but you must be creative. That was all planned in a matter of 3 months. Best of luck. Or you could just go to Justice of the Peace, and then throw some type of theme party at your home to celebrate. It needs to be what you want it to be..

My parents did it very cheap - Mum got the dress from a normal shop (Asda & British Home Stores sell a lot of wedding outfits/bridesmaids dresses etc) - have a civil service, eg registry office & then go out for meal to somewhere cheap & chearful that you like (or hire somewhere like a community centre)...Id also strongly recommend you only invite immediate family/close friends.
Id be surprised if you couldnt do this for less than £1000.00.
Alternatively go for the getting married abroad option, that way its all sorted - wedding, reception & honeymoon...again Id be surprised if you couldnt get this for under £1000.
Good Luck

Go to the local court get a marriage cert. and just do it. You don't need fancy clothes or rings nothing just go, do, done. I got married that way 12 years ago. We didn't even tell anyone we had gotten married for almost two years. It was fun and a big secret for us. Worked great for us. A Friend who spent 50,000 on her wedding got divorced a year and a half later. Money is not the thing that make it last.

Simple have a destination wedding. Resorts/hotels/venues have set prices. The average wedding at home is $20,000 or more. The most you will pay for a destination wedding outside the U.S such as Jamaica would be $5000 the least you will pay is a little less than $1000.

My first husband and I got married very cheaply.
Paid the registry office fees, both bought normal everyday smartish outfits that could be worn again. We invited a few friends back to my Mum's front room. I made my own cake, and told those coming to 'bring a bottle'. The whole thing cost about £200. It was rather symptomatic of the whole short lived marriage lol. He was a cheapskate and a control freak hahaha, serves me right.
Do I sound bitter and twisted?
Good luck anyway, whatever you BOTH decide on.

Set your wedding date at an off peak period, i got married in February, most places were screaming out for business, so you can negotiate a good deal, ask if you can provide your own drinks, we did this and the hotel just charged us corkage.
Keep the guest list to a minimum, only invite those who matter, whats the point in inviting people you haven't seen/wont see again for years?
I had about 30 people at ours and it only cost around £1500.
Good Luck.

Get your marriage license and go to a Justice of the Peace. My license only cost me like $75 and my JP cost like $100. I still wore a wedding dress, just not as frilly of one as I would have needed for a full on wedding. My hubby wore a nice suit. My parents, brother and a couple of friends came. You usually need one person to be your witness to the marriage.

if you or your fiance attend church they'll usuallly let you use it for free or at a great discount.i dont know if ur intrested but with a little work on your part, you could have a fabulous wedding fairly cheap. if you plan on using bird seed,u can run to your local wal-mart go to crafts and pick up a yard or 2 of mesh cloth, small thin ribbon (your color of choice) and a 5lb bag of bird seed.(all for around $10. cut the mesh into 4inch x 4 inch pieces, place 1/4 cup of bird seed in center, pull corners of mesh up and secure with your ribbon.you can put all the little bird seed satchels in a decorated basket and put at the entrance of the church, house ,whatever, and the guest will pick it up and when its time,
throw. oh yeah, congratulations. if u r intrested in any more ideas, dont hesitate to ask.
