I lent money to my neighbor and she signed paperwork that she would pay it back. How do I get money back from her when she didn't pay the amount and this has lapsed for already a week she kept postponing saying shes waiting on her guy to give her money but he hasn't come in. Smells fishy. This was the first time I lent her money. I want to get my money back. I dont want to resort to violence so what else can I do? Cuz she's not at her house when I come by. I think she might try to dissappear on me. I know where she works. I only want real answers no bs!

Since you have paperwork, take her to small claims court. Go through a magistrate and you don't need a lawyer.

First ,try not to lend anymore money .Usually the friendship ends with that . You can tell her that she got one more week to get the money back .After that you will see an Attorney or small claims court to get things going !She is not at her house because she knows that you will be coming by ! Unless you know where her parents are living and try to get things going from that angle !Other than that you probably will kiss the money good bye!
Remember: Violence is never an option !

A week is really not that long to wait for a loan to be repaid, unless she said that she would have this all paid up within 7 days. Why don't you try writing her a letter stating exactly what you want to happen and give her a deadline, if she does not comply by then, I'm sorry to say, the best you can do is take her to small claims court or count your losses and move on.

violence never solves anything
violence breeds violence and negative energy by the ton

Go to your nearest JP's Office and file
a claim that she owes you money. Then when you get it all straightened out, Don't lend again. In the Bible it states that you shouldn't sue anyone, but if its lots of money you may need it. If it just a little, the costs you may have to get it filed may be less than the filing charges. But if you want to do it for principle, it may help her learn not to try to use you again!!

Do know her "guy"? Ask him for the money. If it was alot take her to small claims court! If it wasn't you may have bite the dust on this one!! Don't lend money. It's so hard to come by these days. Good Luck on getting it back!

Unfortunately, the only way to get your money back is to take her to court if she doesn't repay you. Even then, it is hard to collect and sometimes you have to go to a collection agency after the court award.

Subtly "nudge" her every other day.If she still postpones it,tell her you need y-o-u-r money urgently.Don't let her change the topic.Worst come to worst, tell her that you want your money back because you lend it,not give it to her.If all else fails, rally more people to back you up and demand your money back. You can report her to police if she still doesn't budge.Do not harm her physically though...

Give her another deadline. If she still doesn't pay you then take her butt to civil court. And make her pay the court fees. That's the most civil way.
