how can one lose what we have yet to attain?

I believe it is misconception (an error) to believe that people were more moral or had more values in previous ages.

People have murdered, warred upon, abused, oppressed, stolen from, and generally done whatever they could to each other to get ahead throughout history. Our values are perhaps different, but not less or more than before.

They're losing their tendency to spell "lose", I know that. Perhaps human values are changing. There are a lot of bad ideas floating around out there, but ultimately it is the quality of the people that is at fault. Better people will come to better conclusions about what is truly valuable.

here in the states yes. people are so selfish and materialistic that the mood here changes. poor people are not happy here where as in other places poor people are happy and content with what they have.
