I was thinking about painting the entire interior of my house by myself (with my wife's help). We HATE painting and to do two walls it took us one whole day!

We have a 3 bedroom house with vaulted ceilings, so it is going to take at least 4 weekends. The problem is my wife and I want to try for our first baby in January, and with the holidays and vacations, we don't have the time or energy to paint the house in less than 3 months. I don't want to paint when she gets pregnant, so it needs to be done asap.

My friend (a painter) offered to paint my house. I will supply him wth all the paint and stuff and he will bring 2 of his co-workers (all painters) and have it done in one weekend.

Should I just pay my friend $800 to paint our house interior? Should I just bite the bullet and pay the money so we don't have to stress over it?

I call it hassle credit. How much am I willing to pay to not have the hassle in my life? I would say $800 is a good deal for the entire interior and would consider it, except that you are providing all the materials too. Might be a little expensive, but get some other bids and make sure that you are getting your money's worth. Also, I would worry about the hassle from conducting business with friends. What if you don't like the work he does? You prepared to lose a friend over it?

Definitely pay the money!!! We are do it yourselfers and if I could do it over I would pay to have it done. It is not worth the stress it causes especially when you are tired from working all week and then take on a major task on weekends.

Man, if you don't have the time or energy now, you sure wont after you are parents! If you can afford to have someone else do it, then go for it. You are very wise not to paint when your wife is pregnant. See, don't you feel better now?

Yeah in the event that they're keen to do the entire indoors of your place for $800 then its properly worth it so which you and your spouse would be much less under pressure till now the vacations( as though the vacations themselves are no longer annoying adequate) so which you will try on your first infant in January sturdy success!!!

IF anybody at all offered to paint your whole 3-bedroom house for eight hundred dollars, take it!
That's an amazingly low offer

the fewms ( if i have bad spelling then sue me) may not be good for the baby since she is pregnant

so i'd wait till she has given birth, then paint your house with your child in a room that the fewms wont be as bad

or just do it yourself(if u lern to be able to do stuff around your house then you'll find it gets easier the more things break)and have her stay with someone eles (the fewms arentgood ,espetially for a newborn or pregnant woman)

you are already stressing over it
give the friend the money
and that weekend take your wife to a nice hotel or bed and breakfast and spend your time and energy on making the baby

good luck

From the scenario that you present, paying someone $800 sounds like a good option to me.
