Every week my teacher posts clues for a city in the USA. And we have to guess it and the first one to guess it right gets bonus points. So far these are the clues.
1. Is in the wolverine state
2. Is located North of Canada.
I'm not sure if question number two means Canada the country or a city named Canada
Hope you guys can help.

There are many cities that are located farther north than the lowest point in Canada (which is Middle Island, see 1st map below). However, I believe your teacher to mean a city that is due north of a Canadian land mass. In that case, the city he is probably referring to is Detroit, Michigan. From Detroit, you would drive SOUTH to go to Canada (see 2nd map below). However, there are many other cities in Michigan that fall into this category, including...
Hamtramck
Highland Park
Hazel Park
Grosse Pointe
Grosse Pointe Farms
Grosse Pointe Park
Grosse Pointe Woods
Royal Oak
Eastpointe
St. Clair Shores
Warren
Roseville
Madison Heights
New Baltimore
Sterling Heights
Algonac
Marine City
Fraser
Mt. Clemens
St. Clair
Richmond
Memphis
Port Huron
Yale
Marysville
Brown City
Croswell
Sandusky
Bad Axe
Harbor Beach

...there are probably a few others, as well.

Start looking for Michigan cities North of the Canadian border possibly on an island in the Great Lakes. I remember a news report on some place up north where you had to enter Canada to get to it. Good luck

So far you know that it is in Michigan. There is no city in Michigan called Canada so it has to be in the top part of Michigan but you will need some more information to figure it out. Some parts of Michigan are north of some parts of Canada. You need to look at an atlas to see what cities in Michigan are north of any parts of Canada. There are probably quite a few.

It is Detroit, Michigan. I was born there and it is one of the few American cities that is actually north of Canada (the country). Good luck, hon.
