I am considering moving here and would like to hear from anyone who lives there or has been there. I would like to know what it is like there.

Tourism has to be the major industry...many witchcraft shops, museums, ice cream shops, T-shirt emporiums. I found the cemetery to be the most interesting location...and it was free. House of Seven Gables from N. Hawthorne fame and his relatives lived there.

If you're into Tarot, palm reading, crystal balls, covens, voodoo or spells you will be among equals.

Gorgeous place to visit but I was worried about what kinds of jobs were there. With all the tourists going through, wouldn't you think most of the jobs are tourism related? For my field of work, I was thinking that I'd probably have to work elsewhere and commute but I wasn't looking forward to winter driving again. I got away from that where I am now.

Easy to fall in love with the area... maybe I'll move there after I win the lottery and don't have to worry about making a living.

I love Salem! I'd love to live there.

It's a beautiful New England seacost town; full of old houses and little shops. plenty of restaurants and seafood. It's witchy history is an added plus, especially if you're into it.
