I had tubal ligation done in august. Since then, my periods have been much heavier and a few days longer. I will mention that I am 27 and its been 4 and a half years since I've given birth.
What (physically) causes the heavier period after TL?

That is one of the reasons I DIDNT do the TL. One of the little talked about side effects is heavier periods. I have a friend who had a TL 4 years ago...and since then her periods have been heavier, longer and more painful. There are months she doesnt get out of bed the first 2 days of her period!! I would talk to the gyno and see if there is anything that can be done to help you. Goodluck!

Are you breastfeeding? Breastfeeding might reason sessions to be anovulatory which makes them heavier and extra painful (there are different issues that could reason anovulatory sessions as properly). i'm having a similar situation - 3 days of soaking a pad each and every hour as quickly as I do have my era, and then yet another 4 days of soaking a pad each and every 2-3 hours as properly. I asked my physician approximately it and he stated the worst which could take place is which you will get anemic from the blood loss (which got here approximately to me). If it is been extra suitable than a pair of sessions that it is been happening although, i could deliver it up on the gyno once you bypass. i don't think of there is any reason to bypass quicker or something although. Edit - For what its worth, I additionally had a tubal ligation, so it ought to be regarding that as properly.

That's odd after a TL since your ovaries are still there, producing the same hormones. Maybe you're just having a natural hormonal change. Did you take bcp's before the TL? Maybe if you did and stopped taking them after the TL, your hormones have changed.
