There are ten. To get a hundredth, divide a pie into one hundred pieces. Each piece represents .01 pies or one hundredth of the pie.
To find a tenth of the pie. take those 100 pieces and put them in ten piles. Each pile represents .10 pies or one tenth of a pie
Since there are ten piles, each pile ( or .10 pies) has 10 pieces. Each piece is .01 pies so ten pieces is .1 pies.
So 10 hundredths of a pie=.1 or one tenth of a pie.
Using the decimal system remember that the first place right of the decimal point is the tenths, then the hundredths then the thousandths then ten thousandths, etc multiplying by one tenth for each successive place.
