If given the choice, stay with the one who is more strict. Most kids (and adolescents) tend to choose to stay with whichever parent is "easier-going". However, this always ends in disaster and the child usually ends up with the other parent after all. The reason: a parent who is "easy going" and does not lay down and enforce rules is not really being a parent, and is not fulfilling his/her responsibilities. It may seem like a good idea to go with the parent who is less strict, but it certainly is not the best choice. Incidentally, anyone who tells you that you should stay with your mom simply because she "birthed" you is being ignorant, and fails to realize that your dad is just as much your parent as your mom.

Trust me - I've seen this more times than I can count.

That depends on who you get along with better, where they live, etc. You should live with the one that has the most time available to devote to you and the one who lives in the same school district of your school so you don't have to change schools. But no matter which one you choose to live with you should let the other parent know how much you love them and why you chose the other parent and you should make a big effort to spend lots of time with the parent you chose not to live with.

Who has the better house? I'd say you could get away with more if you stayed with your dad.

There are a lot of factors to consider, Why do you have to choose? Is it a possibility to have open communication with both? Who has your best interests in mind? Who is closest to the school you want to attend? etc..

Who provides the beter home enviorment? Who is around more for you? Who wants you and not just the support check? Who respects you more? Who supports you in what you believe in?

The answers to these questions should help you decide.

Whichever one's cooler and you get along with better. I'd stay with my dad because he would probably be less annoying and let me do more stuff.

PS: Or whichever one has a better job.
