Visit the local thrift shops and let your mind wander.
I got a great blue & white checked dress for a couple of bucks. I took a pair of red high heels, a bottle of red glitter and Elmer's glue and voila - a basket and stuffed black toy dog & I was Dorothy.
The year I was pregnant with my 1st, I was little red riding hood (about 8 months ago so you can guess the comments! LOL)
A matronly dress, a ruler for smacking knuckles and white powder in your hair could turn you into an old school marm.
Any prom or bridesmaid dress could turn you into a beauty queen or prom queen. If it won't be used again, a few slashes and red paint to become any of a hundred victims in a slasher movie. White face and vampire teeth with or without the blood also works well with a formal.
Cutesy-poo dresses and clothes work great as a Barbie.
Old man's clothing - larger the better - combined with stuffing or hay can turn you into a vagabond or a scarecrow. Or try a black suit, slicked hair and black sun glasses as a...man in black...
