In 11th grade I did a research paper on "Heaven's Gate" the cult mass suicide that took place in CA about 10 years ago. It was very interesting to learn about and my teacher enjoyed reading about it too.

Some excellent ideas here. My favorite topic is
the Gregorian calendar. If you're mathematically
inclined, it could make a wonderful research paper.

Try writing about the internet and chatrooms and all the phoneies who are in there lying their butts off to look good. You can even cover the harrassment folks do in those just to make themselves feel better. Make it a page on modern day communications.

you're worried about boring the teacher? he/she is the one who assigned it, right? the teacher asked for it. i'd be more worried about boring yourself. pick something you're interested in. you can research just about anything. pick a well known company or something.

I had this same problem. You can do an essay one the differences of television and books. Include your own view on this matter. I think she/he will really enjoy this.

i did mine last year about Marc Antony
i found it to be interesting....if you have an interest in history you might like it too
plus....easy to find info on him.

try doing something controversial like:
stem cell research
abortion/teen abortion

try to make it something that you can:
relate to
relate to other people
