Please tell me your reasons for either choice.

I would say doing it myself because at least then I know where everything is put.

Cleaning it myself works best, that way I know where everything is etc...
When someone comes to clean it, or help clean it ( give mom a break ! ) I tend to "pre clean" my house making sure that there isnt any thing laying aorund that shouldne be seen ..like fancy panties or something..or a light dusting so they dont think..wtf? this chick never cleans her house!!!
Things like that
It is just so much easier to do it myself.

It would depend on how dirty it is. Hiring someone would save you time and the hassle, but would cost you money unless like i do you could do the barter system. My cousin cleans my house and I watch her son for her on a weekend when she wants to go out.
Cleaning the house yourself can take time and patience, but save you money in the long run!
It all depends on you and how much time and effort you want to put into it to have things the way you want things done!

recently my husband started payng someone to clean my house, she is great and does a great job, but, my children 11,15 and 18 are all so close in size that she can't tell their clothes apart. Things also get stored where I won't normally store them. So other than the fact of me not being able to find what I am looking for there are really no diadvantages to it. Other than fighting teens every morning getting ready for school..lol

I would love to hire someone else to clean my house, however it is easier on the wallet for me to do it myself.

Well, I would like to say cleaning it yourself because I feel I have to at least pick things up and have it reasonably clean before the maid service comes. Ha,ha! I don't like the idea of any strangers going through my personal thngs either. I just let them clean the bathrms., kitchen and wash flrs. and vacuum carpets.

More economic: doing it yourself. You know your house better then anyone, and you know where things go.
Easier: always giving it to someone else to do, but remember...most people want details, and directions. This takes time, and you may be better off just doing it yourself. Happy cleaning

Cleaning it myself. When I have had someone come in to clean my house I tend to clean it first so they dont see any of my mess. That and if I clean it myself then I know where everything is.

I have never had anyone else clean my house. I would feel like I have to clean it before they would come to clean it. I get great satisfaction cleaning my own home. I would love to have someone clean my windows.

Ourselves.
Reasons:
1 saves money
2 no one getting into your personal things
3 I don't trust others
4 I know where things are
5 Keep it picked up and you wont have to clean much daily
6 It's the right thing to do!

Everyone I know tends to straighten up before the maid service comes so they aren't embarrased by their mess...seems crazy, but's thats what they do. It's easier just to do a little everyday yourself.
