but apparently there has been a bulletin put out by GM about a noisy subframe and they are going to inject lock tight into the cradle to try and quiet it down some. Has anyone ever heard of doing this? They said that there are no cracks that they can see..

i dont know much about the impala living in England but looking at it is a bulky looking motor. As for your subfframe being noisy, i can't imagine how this occurs, after all there are no apparent cracks etc.... As for injecting it with loctite, i hate to think what that will acheive. The noise is probably originating from suspension mountings etc attatch to the main undercarriage, although this will be damn hard to locate in motion. But hey the dealer knows best, and if its under warranty, hassle the life out of them

i have heard of this before and i have not tried it for myself. i worked for a gm dealer in the past, they have done test to prove that this works and fixes problems. there is more to the bulletin than just injecting lock tight in to the sub frame. there are alot of "stupid" fixes like that, that work and i cannot explain just how they work.
