Very real depiction of the times of Jesus. Brutal depiction of the crucifixion process. But probably very real. I don't think the Romans were gentle in their executions. I didn't respond to the bald female as Satan. I think that should have been represented as something not human. But overall it was probably the most true depiction of the life of Jesus.
The Last Temptation of Christ was also good, but it isn't as authentic (english speaking). The whole issue of Jesus' fantasy of living happily with Mary Magdelene as his wife was a very clever twist to add a plot element that had never been considered.

I think it is one of the best movies ever put on the screen, Yes it is brutal but he did suffer like that and was beaten with a whip that had broken glass and things of that sort,It showed me a whole different view of the Cross,But it also showed his human side with his mother and i think that got to me more than any thing. I recommend it to you very highly and if people that saw this were not touched deeply by this film, Then your heart is made of stone.

Wait until it's made for TV and save your money if you'd planned on renting it. It's a shock movie and although it depicts the torture it says nothing about the man himself. A lot of people felt it was anti-Semitic but it wasn't. It just portrayed how it was.

I really liked it. its a little long and you have to read everything since its not in English so sometimes I'd be busy reading and not watching the screen. Its a little graphic in some parts.. to where I can't watch it.. But everyone i know really liked it.

It's a horrible dipiction of Jesus, and if you havn't heard, Mel Gibson is crazy, and that movie really shows it. Watch "The last temptation of Christ", I think its by martin scorsesey. That is the best movie about Jesus I have ever seen.

It was a powerful movie. I liked the fact that an English dialect wasn't spoken.

It was very intense, but it goes to show how much Jesus suffered for our sins.
