there are personal issues regarding our friends that we want to interfere. there are matters of the heart, family problem and so on. knowing or seeing what their problems are, what are our limitations as a friend? how can we help them and put our concerns into consideration without annoying, hurting or being OA?

no such thing. A friend has no limits until they actually say to you, "I can no longer be a part of this discussion".

What a good question!
I think the most important thing is to not be judgemental.
If you are concerned, be a friend and voice that concern, without judging. Let your friend know that you will be there for them, whatever the outcome.

Friends should value each other's opinions and respect their concerns without feeling "backed into a corner".
You can only "rescue" someone who really wants to be saved.

I feel that if you are a true friend you will do what is best for that person even if it means that he or she may be mad at you. It boils down to what is the absolute best thing, not what your boundaries are. As people we should always want the best and to do the right thing for everyone.

Do not go into their little sphere. I would say, invite them out somewhere other than their home and offer a welcoming place if they are troubled and give general suggestions that do not point out her/his problems explicitately. Always make sure they are comfortable like, "Do you want to say something? Mind if I say something and you can take it whatever way you like?"

Mention your attentinos and if they start to get defensive, tell them you wont interfere anymore but you are open to them if they need help.

when it comes to friends the only boundrys their are that I know of is never date a friends X or your X's friend, you should be able to tell you friend if you are concerned for there well being, but remember that blood is thicker than water when it comes to family matters . . you choose your friends not your family . . so in the family matters you may just have to be there for comfort not for the cure.

I think the limitations of being a friend are decided by the individuals. If you are asked something by a "friend" and it seems out of line, then you decide. maybe they arent your friend. It is a personal decision.

Hope this helps
