If you're thinking of a comedy, it's most definitely A Fish Called Wanda. Michael Palin (of Monty Python fame) plays the stuttering character K-K-K-K-Ken. Hah. One of the best movies ever made. Also stars John Cleese (also of MP), Kevin Kline, and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Edit: Oops, my bad. A Fish Called Wanda came out in 1988.
