You are talking about the THC in marijuana I assume. You must be refering to the article in the Journal of Molecular Pharmaceutics that indicates THC can block clumps of protein that inhibit memory. If you smoke enough of that high powered hydroponically grown Canadian weed you won't care if you lose your memory or not. It is interesting. Can THC be isolated and put in another form such as capsules? I am sure that if pharmaceutical companies can make money selling this as a cure for Alzheimer's there will be a push to legalize marijuana for commercial purposes. Perhaps, this will happen if large pharmaceutical companies and congress work together in a joint effort. And I am not just blowing smoke.

There's a lot of practical medicinal uses for this plant. In some states laws forbid it to be used for medicine. It could help so many people who are suffering from various illnesses and diseases. Alzheimers runs in my family and I've thought about how it might help.

Interesting! But you notice they DO NOT recommend smoking it!

"They also note that THC may provide a "drug lead" -- a model for developing new and more effective medications with more targeted effects on AD.

The researchers explain that such compounds "may provide an improved therapeutic for Alzheimer's disease, augmenting acetylcholine levels by preventing neurotransmitter degradation and reeducating amyloid beta aggregation, thereby simultaneously treating both the symptoms and progression of Alzheimer's disease."

They'll always take the fun out of everything, right?!

The sad part is..........it will take forever to see the long term effects and by then the men working on this research will have reached the age of dementia and forgotten what they were researching.

It is also used to treat patients with cataracts and vision disorders, as well as patients living with chronic pain.

I think it should also be used to encourage appetite in bulimic and anorexic patients too.

Perhaps it could even assist sleeping disorders?

No one should smoke that plant, is sinful. Only smoke the legal cigarettes. The cancer tells you that you have lived right.
