I am learning to play the guitar and I am having trouble changing notes smoothly. Any suggestions?

Make sure your thumb is pointed straight up, not laying down. Use the tips of your fingers. Other than that, just practice slow and slowly speed up to the right tempo. It takes practice.

It seems impossible at first but most of learning how to play the guitar is just getting your fingers used it. It hurts for a while but fight through it and you will get it.
