MY SCHOOL IS GAY and they have pretty much blocked every way of getting into myspace at school...there are like NO web proxies that aren't blocked even...GOSH!!!

Your school isnt gay, the fact is that you arent meant to be going on these sites in school time, notice that other sites including games are usually blocked too, i work in ict in a school and block sites for children, this is down to the fact that if we didnt the children would be going on them instead of doing there work.

Some people can use myspace for bad things. Most schools don't encourage recreational use of their computers, so they block those type of sites. Computers at school should be used for research and writing. Checking your email is fine, as long as you don't sit there sending emails back and forth.

I'm a teacher and we can't check email at school (like through Yahoo or any outside source) for the same reason you can't access Myspace. We're all there to work/learn and those sites are distractions. Many students would abuse their privelage.

Schools block a lot of stuff, not just Myspace. They mostly block it to keep students from getting distracted from wat they're supposed to be doing: researching. But yea, there are harmful things that students can do, too. And who knows? Maybe they might go watch porn or open up a pop-up that causes the whole damn thing to crash. I dont know! Teachers are just anal.

First the computer belongs to the schools, so they have a right to block it,2ND you're in school to get an education, not for your entertainment use.

you should be doing any of that stuff on your home computer

what people do @ my skewl is go on sites in different languages. Like go to Spanish Myspace. Usually there not blocked. then, you just go to an intepretation site and type everything in and translate.
kind of desperate, but hey, its an addiction.

Hmmm... sometimes schools/teachers actually do things in your best interest... they are not there to find ways to make you miserable; at least not always
