Were friends, but because of the differences in their philosophies, they have become adversaries. Professor X is always reaching out to Magento in the hope that he can still pull him back. (No, they are not related - the Professor's brother is Juggernaut. And no, only Magneto (who was gypsy by birth) was in the concentration camp.)

They were in a concentration camp together. One wants mutants to do good things and they other wants the mutants to take over the world.

I think they were best friends - started the whole thing about training mutants together but had different ideas about how to progress and went their separate ways
