The pill is suppose to trick your body into thinking it's pregnant, therefore, it stops ovulation. However, I did ovulate while on a low-dose pill (evidenced by a huge cyst on an ovary). Maybe you should talk to your doctor about getting on a higher dose with more estrogen.

If you ovulate you can get pregnant so the answer is no. It is very important to take the pill at the same time each day though, especially a low dose pill or it could lose its effectiveness.

No, you are not ovulating while on the pill. The pill keeps you from getting pregnant by giving you the hormones that trick your body into thinking its already pregnant.

The pill works by imitating the hormonal mileau that your body produces during pregnancy (to an extent) thus preventing the chance of pregnancy.
So if you are taking an appropriate dose of the pill as directed you should not ovulate.
At least, that's my understanding, I'm not an ob/gyn
