I have special knee high socks that keep my legs from swelling. They were great working as a Hairstylist and they are good to wear on planes.

Ever heard of Lance Armstrong? Or any of the elite cyclists in the Tour de France or Hawaii Triathlon? Well, many cyclists wear pantyhose for the same reason as your husband! Sitting, esp. on a bike seat, for any reason, increases blood pressure to the leg veins but slows its normal rate of return to the torso.

Bikers have long known that support pantyhose can help w/ this! Let your poor husband do what he can to alleviate a nasty problem, ok?

My next question would be: why does he HAVE swelling in his legs? If he's diabetic, you'd better do whatever you can to motivate and help him or he'll end up like my mother's friend; she sits in a chair all day, refusing to walk (tho' she can) and letting everyone tend to her (including bathroom "duty"...ugh!).

Talk to his Dr. to see what he can do to improve circulation.

P.S.: many sports companies make what they call "compression tights" (usually for bikers). They're much like pantyhose, but cooler and more durable. I believe Cabela's sells some. Check them out and give hubby a break, eh?

He probably doesn't need to wear pantyhose. There are a variety of leg wraps at the drugstore for people with problems. Support him.

If that were true then I would buy mens support stuff if possible. But I would never leave my husband because he had a medical condition that required something like that. I would not be happy if it was just cause he wanted to wear them though.

I used to work at Rite Aid, and Rite Aid sells support hose for men and women, I assume because of things like swollen legs.

I'm not married, and I've never thought of a situation like that, but if I love him, I'll stay with him. It's just hose. It doesn't detract from his manliness in anyway. I would just be happy that he's doing something to keep his legs healthy so he still HAS legs.

In short, yes, I'd support him.

i'm a man, so I cant answer this from a female perspective, but any woman who would do so if there was a legitimate medical reason, is not somone who deserves to be with a nice guy.

However I know they make special compression socks for people with this problem. I doubt pantyhose would even be as effective as these socks.

Hopefully he's not wearing skirts along with it as well...j/k. You'd have to support him, because he HAS to wear the pantyhose.

This isn't a choice its a medical problem. Would you leave him if he had to wear a hearing aid? Support him and find out what other things you might be able to do (diet and exercise) that might be able to help him get better.

Obviously your husband is doing the stocking thing for health reasons. You seem to be rather shallow to even ask this sort of question. Are you looking for a way out? Sure looks like it!
