I miss the relationship this has to politics, but anyway... The bible was written in various langages and translated several times. Things tend to lose their original meaning when translated.

Oh my devil, there are so many people who actually believe we have an invisible being watching our every move - manipulating us...

Okay, No the modern 'bible' is not an original text, especially the King James Version. According to my linguistical friends (who were probably under the influence of an invisible being --- seen as they were in Jamaica smoking weed --- okay so it was incense in a Catholic Church), there is no Hebrew original for the word LORD. At least not back then. Dictionaries may change, but back then, no word such as LORD. Just as ten years ago McJob didn't exist.

Many additions, copies, translations and removals were done to the bible that only naive fundamentalist people believe it's unchanged and the absolute truth written by God (it wasn't written by God, it was written by humans).
Before the press machine, the bible was copied over and over by hand, the protestant/reform movement dropped many parts of the bible (hence the catholic bible is bigger), it was translated into pretty much every known language, etc, etc. Even nowadays you have a whole bunch of different versions.

Of course it isn't. I do believe that King James had the bible re-written during his rule. And my understanding is, he was sole interpreter of what he wanted it to say, and how it was said. SO in my opinion, the BIBLE of today, is probably eons out of proportion to what it was originally intended. Without question, there is something wrong somewhere. Look at all the hate, war, and arguing that goes on over it and what it says. SURELY, this was not what God / Jesus intended.

I think the best form of the Bible is the one you can best understand. What's the point if you can't understand it. There are some hard to understand versions of the Bible out there.

Of course it's not the same. Just like the Quran isn't the same, nor any other ancient text.
