Fort Victoria, near present-day Smoky Lake, Alberta, was established by the Hudson's Bay Company in 1864 as a trading fort with the local Cree Indians. Today, it is a historical museum.

Fort Vancouver was a fur trading post of the Hudson bay co, on the Columbia River. The territory was occupied by both english and Americans, later it became oregan territory.
