I've heard this question before, or at least I think it was in a comic book somewhere. Superman is the ultimate, and he would win over Batman anyday. While Bruce Wayne-I mean 'Batman' has the brains and would have kryptonite on his side, Superman doesnt have to always use physical attacks to bring down his opponents. Superman could freeze him, fry him, or even fly up to space and drop a meteor on him.

There are loads of these questions - who would win if X fought Y. I think it's all about context (obviously, you have to get past the fact that we're talking about fictional characters here).
My opinion, knowing a bit about both characters, the situation is all important. If we're talking an out and out fist fight, well it's obvious. The man who can punch through an elephant is going to beat the man who can't, even if he could kick Bruce Lee's ***. But the character of the Batman has never really been solely about whooping backside.
I reckon, given a bit of time, comic script writers could come up with a feasible way for Batman to beat ANY character in the world of comics. They did it with the JLA (and Supes is in there, so it's been done already). He could probably even beat the Hulk. (cure him, not a fist needs to be thrown in anger).
So, anyway, my opinion. If it's a 'fight' it's be Superman, obviously. The man uses the sun as Red Bull. But if it's a drawn out war, no contest. Batman all the way.

There is more than kryptonite that can bring down Superman electricution, freezing, a deffining noise etc. these have all been covered in the comic book. You can bet your soul that Bruce Wayne (Batman) would have knowledge of & the ability to utilize every single one. Batman (Bruce Wayne) is a billionaire with unlimited resources both technology & intelligence. The Batman would stand more than a fair chance against Superman.

Well Superman would probably win because he's from another planet and Batman is only human. However I must say the Batman is better.

Batman is good, but Superman!! The only way to hurt him is with Kryptonite. Batman is human and can be hurt.

well originally, i'd say batman (b/c of a certain green ring...), but superman of Earth-2 destroyed that, so im thinkin superman, b/c he could just move really fast before batman realizes he is attacking or before he could respond
