Denial is a long river in Egypt.
I'm sorry, I couldn't help myself. Denial is the refusal to accept the obvious reality of a situation even in the face of overwhelming facts or information to the contrary.

denial is not accepting the facts as it is stated.. for example a individual that would be in denial is a alcoholic, he has lost his home his family and his job, but he continues to drink because he has convinced himself that when he lost his job it was his boss's fault, when he lost his home those damn banks and when his wife and family left it was their loss..alot of people live in denial it is a form saving face from the facts..

Denial, according to Freud, is an ego defense mechanism that helps us protect ourselves from difficult feelings. It is a conscious thing we do (meaning we are aware of it when we do it).
