more than anything, just be there for them. If they need help, or if they need anything, then offer it to them if you can.

If they need to be alone, and they say so, let them alone. .

if they are going through hard times, they probably need a friend, someone to talk to and to know that someone cares, so be there with them, and go through it with them. .

true friends don't have any boundaries, and will give whatever is asked of them selflessly, to help out a friend, and show they care and are loyal.

That said, I am not saying to butt in and interfere where it's not your place, but feel free to give your advice if your friend talks to you about the subject at hand (what they are going through).

If they tell you what's going on, that's an invitation for you to give them your input.

How do you define "friend" is the first step. How does the other person define it? I have trouble seeing that you are really friends or it would have already been resolved. Things can be discussed in a general way and that way each persons standpoint is right there. You have the right to express your view and your friend has a right to have their own. Do they want your help?
If the problem is one that compromises your core beliefs if they don't change then it's time to go...if not show the respect a friend deserves and stay out of things.

there r limitations 2 being a friend; like knowing when to butt out of something that dosen't concern you and knowing when to efficiently help when it's needed. for example if the friend has afamily problem then you must be sure to help only if asked

Good friends have no boundaries. Because a good friend knows when and how far he/she can go. A good friend is selfless and has no evil intentions. My best friend can ask me anything. If I dont want to answer, then I dont and she understands

If you are true friends, should not be boundaries on showing concern for them.
