I swear by yogurt. I never really liked it much, but I have acquired a taste for Dannon strawberry and Bryer's fruit on the bottom. It really works, because I use to be so prone to yeast infection, and I haven't had one in months since I've been eating yogurt daily. Also, I totally quit using tampons. It's gross, but I'd rather have a few days of gross than even one day of itching!!

Yogurt is good but besides that also make sure you change your underclothes often. Yeast likes a warm, moist environment so staying clean and fresh can help prevent an infection. Also, if you are getting them very often it can be a sign of diabetes and pregnant women also have a tendancy to get them.

--don't use deoderant anything down there (no pads, no tampons, no deoderant soap)
--wear cotton undies (cotton breathes)
--don't sit around in wet or damp clothing; this includes bathing suits but also includes your undies and workout gear after a workout
--do NOT douche. Ever.
--wash down there with a very mild soap. I have to use Summer's Eve Feminine wash as even Ivory soap will irritate me
--be careful also of lubricants (astroglide, KY and even the stuff they put on condoms), as they can be irritating if your sensitive to getting infections
Oh, the others are right--eating a container of yogurt every day will actually help control them as it builds up the good bacteria down there to fight off the bad. Don't like yogurt, go to a GNC and look for 'acidopholis' pills. :)

Don't wear tight fitting underwear, nylon underwear, or tight fitting jeans. After sex, wash "the area" off, after using the toilet (urinating), wipe from front to back if you're a woman. Eat yogurt. Hope this helps.

Take acidopholis (a probiotic) every day. This is the same stuff that is found in yogurt that keeps a natural balance of bacteria and flora inside your intestines.
