No, they are not the same thing.
A half brother/sister is your blood relative. A step- is not.
sister/brother=both mom and dad is the same as yours.
half-/either your mom or your dad is not the same. You both have the same dad and different moms or same mom and different dads.
A step mother is someone who married your dad- and if she had kids- they are your steps-
A step-father married your mother, and IF he has other children with someone else-they are steps-
Adopted children are just like natural children.

Step siblings are kids that have no blood relation to you that are your mom/dad's spouse. Half siblings are kids that are blood related to you because they share either a mom or dad with you.

A step sibling you can **** cause it's through marriage only.
A half sibling would be kind of gross because you've both got the same amount of dna running through you.

No they are not the same thing..... a STEP sibling is NO Blood Relation.
A HALF sibling is blood relation, either the same mom or dad.

one is relation through marriage where the other is through blood.
