Or was it every man for himself since he's been excluded from team meetings?

As a lame duck driver that is changing teams next year Vickers would be wrong either way that he goes.
In an attempt to help a team mate win the race he was showing his team spirit. But as soon as the accident happened he was blamed for the wreck because he is leaving the team.
As a member of Hendricks he will be there to help his team.

Hell no he's not. First, your only obligation is to you and your team. Yeah, you drive for a team (such as Hendrick Motorsports) but at the end of the day.. it's all about each car/driver in it's own. You don't get points for an "assist" so therefor, you have to go for the win.. regardless.

Also, Brian Vickers doesn't owe Jimmie anything. Jimmie has laid him out to dry at restrictor plate tracks several times this year, and so therefor, why should he receive help. Jimmie is often about himself only.. I mean, last Dega race..they had a good thing going. They had Hendrick boys lined up 1, 2, 3, 4..Jimmie screwed it up for all of them. You race for the win at the end..
Unfortunately for Jimmie he slowed up and Brian didn't, and ooopsie there's the infield.
I can undersatnd needing him to be exluded from team meetings..that's a pretty normal occcurance when there is plans to leave for another team, esp something like Toyota...but seriously.. Jimmie needs the "Life is a Team Sport" crammed down his throat..and maybe Sunday helped him to learn that.

Q#1. NO!

Q#2. Team mate to JJohnson or not everyone should know the
definition of the word: Competition; Should one Olympic medal winning speed skater ease up so another skater from his or her country's team can catch up and win a medal too?
Of course NOT! Then you would have the same situation as the 1919? World Series where players intended to lose.
Although I'm a stanch Rousch Fan & #31 JB Fan, I congradulate Brian Vickers and tell all that JJohnson pissed on his own lumber stack at Tally; and it's a down right shame that E Jr. had to have been down wind and caught up in #48's gamble to pass. I'd also like to add that Dale Jr. showed a lot of maturity and leadership thru the whole post race interviews.

He definitely not obligated to help anyone, but he wasn't justified in blasting Jimmie Johnson into Jr. to steal the win either. Vickers showed what kind of man he was in the post race interviews.

No, he is not obligated to help him. This is not a team sport, no matter what Eyebrows or Jeffie Poo say. Vickers has a responsibility to his team and his sponsers to do the best he can in every race. How can he do his best if he is constantly trying to help other HMS drivers win races?

And let's get real here, how many people think that Jeffie Poo or Eyebrows would help Vickers if the tables were turned?

No, he is not "obligated" to help anyone. But the attitude of "every man for himself" does not give him the right to take out two drivers just so he gets a win.

I think Nascar has to do more to stop drivers from spinning each other out ... purposeful or not. . If you're racing up front with guys and you spin someone out in front of you and end up winning ... that is just plain wrong. If your car is responsible for spinning out another car ... especially if it ruins their day, you should take the same hit (or worse). Like when Stewart purposefully wrecked Truex and ended up taking Edwards out of the race and the chase... he should have been dealt with much more harshly.

He wasnt obligated to help out Jimmy but he should have never Spun him out either. Plus Brian shouldnt have been given that win. He should have been sent to the tail end of the longest line. Kasey Kahne should have won it. And Jimmy should have smacked the Crap out of Brian for doing what he did

Only obligation I saw was Vickers helping him wreck.

Obligated to help him? Last time I checked he wrecked him on the last lap of the race so he could win.

He had no obligation. Hendrick was already treating him shabbily and showing him the door. And I think what he did was more like retaliation than help.
