My fifth period class was disruptive and talkative and not on task. I don't know if this is just immaturity or what, but it's a chore to teach them, and they're not responding like all my other classes. I don't like being the heavy, but I will impose order and get results, whether they're mature enough to understand or not.

It's just a pain to impose order on people who are at this point in the year, very random, very immature, very distractable, very scattered. About 33% of the class is academically oriented, quiet, focused, mature. Another third are very immature and not all that into school, and they don't seem to see the point of school; it's just something they're forced to do. The light of needing and wanting to know, not only for the love of knowledge, but for self-improvement and economic survival, hasn't caught fire with them. It makes it hard for me to relate to, because I was always interested in school. And there's another third who could go either way: some days they focus and others they are rather more scattered.

But I will keep trying and imposing order and discipline on them.

Cheers, K

I read a question on Answers where a boy of 16years was asking where he could get hold of guns and ammunition.
Even if he wasn't serious, which I hope he wasn't, it was quite scary reading this.
I guess it upset me too considering all the horrible deaths that occur through guns.

I'm dumbfound (?) by how jealous and insecure people can be...

People say they support you and then when you surpass their expectations they become serious haterzs...

What gives?

It just goes to show you that most people are small minded and "true blue" and "authentic" are rare qualities in good people....

For all of you taking the high road...never give up...and smile when small-minded people try to bring you down...not only do they hate it when you smile...but you continually prove that you are the bigger person....
