I have been with my now husband for almost 12 years and we will be married for 3 years tomorrow. I actually wrote a couple months ago because my husband kept coming up with the same reason for not wanting a baby, "Cant afford it". Well I took some of the advice and tried not to push him.
Well, I had a long talk with my hubby and I finally got him to understand how much it meant to me and that I thought we were ready for the next step and an addition to our family. So we decided to start trying that night!! Since I was on the pill for between 6 and 7 years and have been off of for 3 yrs now how long might it take?
My husbands aunt said that she was on BC for 7 yrs and it took 7 yrs for her to conceive her 1st and was on BC for 4 yrs after that and it took another 4 yrs for her 2nd. Do you think that will be the same case for us?

Sorry, I have a couple questions all put into one paragraph. Just needing advice!!

If you have been off the pill for three years it should not affect your ability to get pregnant now. Generally the rule of thumb is that the pill leaves your system completely within three months.

An average couple with normal fertility takes about four months to conceive. That is just an average, though, you could get pregnant this month or it could take a while.... generally you have to try unsuccessfully for 6-12 months before doctors consider you to need medical help getting pregnant. Best of luck!
