.98% of people have serious problems like the previous poster! However it is normal to be spotting in between period. The paraguard is non hormonal so do expect your period to be heavier and the cramps to be worse 4 at least 1 year then you might start skipping periods on the IUD.

Honey I had one of those things put in years ago.I tried to endure it as long as I could. But I finally had to call the paramedics one night,I was doubled over with cramps, and bleeding like I'd been stabbed. When I got to the E.R.,they found that it pierced my cervix and I had lost so much blood, that I had to have a transfusion. The thing was infected inside me.The Dr.that took care of me said he hated those things. He told me he had treated so many women that had the same trouble, just not as bad as mine.Mine wouldn't have gotten that bad had the Dr.that put it in told me it needed to come out, instead of telling me if I just put up with the cramps a little longer, they would eventually go away. That was back in the mid 70's. I thought they had taken those things off the market.I was in my late teens, and believed what a Dr. would tell me.But I learned from that lesson that almost cost me my life, that if something is causing you discomfort,or if you're losing allot of blood,it's your bodies way of saying it doesn't like what you've put in it.Doctors should tell women, those things aren't made for EVERY woman, and to come back if you are experiencing pain.Have it removed honey before something happens. Take care and God bless

I'm a man, so I don't know. You may want to ask this in one of the "Health" forums, though. This is more for entertainment questions!

Just lick up the blood, and pull out the IUD.

No not normal at this point. You should have it checked, it may have moved or been inserted incorrectly.
